Kapok is a natural, organic fiber harvested from the pods of trees growing wild in tropical forests. Fiber has many valuable properties that are perfect for sensitive babies, allergy sufferers and the environment. It is more breathable than any other natural fiber because it has a hollow core and is made up of 80% air, which makes it about 8 times lighter than cotton. The fibers are covered with a thin layer of wax which repels insects and mites; therefore, no pesticides are used in production.
Cleaning Instructions: We recommend that you aerate your kapok product as often as possible to maintain the fine quality of the fiber. You don't have to wash your product before use and wash it only when necessary. Kapok fiber has a very fine structure which makes it take time to dry to look wet. When washing, use a powerful centrifugation to expel all the water. Tumble dry and sort the fibers by hand afterwards
